I don’t think it is possible to be British, own a record player, and not own at least one Bowie record. Other than a certain Major Tom release, my Bowie experience was more founded in a certain TV show starring John Simm than a love of the music itself.
Side one sounded great. Another Discogs purchase proving it to be a good place to buy music (there will be one review buried in here that counters that argument but on the whole it has been a positive experience – look for an Eagles review).
Side two also great for quality but I just did not mesh with the album as a whole. Other the Jean Geanie.
Album opinion: I do not want anyone to get me wrong. Bowie is a legend and a fantastic performer. I just think I bought the wrong album. Kooks is more my thing and far superior to this album. The whole album with one track mentioned feel like filler in his overall back catalogue. This might not be a popular viewpoint but it is still valid. There is a lack of the groundbreaking sound and lyrics that made him a legend. Not one I would recommend unless you want everything. Sorry.
Overall this record is an archive record and not one I will be coming back to often
Conclusion – an OK addition to the library
